The J1939 female plug is Type 2, so its Pin F is with smalller diameter like Pin C and Pin J. Type 2 J1939 female plugs can be compatible with Type 1 or Type 2 J1939 male plugs.

Application
This is a cable between a J1939 round Deutsch 9-pin female connector, a J1939 Deutsch 9 pin male connector and a Molex 6-Pin female connector. The J1939 +/- data lines are connected to the CAN +/- lines, and the power and ground lines are also connected.
The common application is to connect telematics, fleet management or trucking devices to heavy duty commercial vehicles that have the 9-pin round Deutsch ports. Some telematics, fleet management or trucking devices have the Molex 6-Pin male ports, so Molex 6-Pin female connector on this cable is needed. The Deutsch 9 pin J1939 male connector on the cable can also be connected to an ELD.
